1. KKB Overview

KKB Kun Khmer Boxing Club Battambang was founded around a simple principle: helping fighters become more effective while taking less damage.

Developed by Robert Grégoire, President and Head Coach of KKB, this philosophy combines traditional Kun Khmer values with modern combat sports understanding.

KKB teaches fighters to think first, move first and protect themselves first.

2. The Simplest Truth About Winning Fights

Many fighters overcomplicate combat.

At KKB we constantly remind our students of one simple reality:

To win a fight, only two things are absolutely necessary:

1. Score more points than your opponent.

2. Do not get knocked out.

Everything else is simply a tool to help achieve those two objectives.

You do not need to chase knockouts every round.

You do not need to turn every fight into a war.

You do not need to prove your courage by accepting unnecessary damage.

3. The KKB Philosophy

For KKB, Kun Khmer and Muay Thai are martial arts based on intelligence, discipline, respect and self-control.

Our objective is not to seriously injure opponents.

Our objective is to control the fight, control ourselves and control the space around us.

A fighter who wins while remaining protected is more successful than a fighter who wins after absorbing unnecessary punishment.

Fighting smart is more important than fighting hard.

4. Essential Qualities According to KKB

According to the KKB philosophy, fighters should focus on the following priorities.

  1. Technique – including feints, speed, accuracy and rapid return to guard.
  2. Distance Management
  3. Timing
  4. Footwork
  5. Clinch
  6. Specific Fight Cardio
  7. Strength & Conditioning
  8. Mental Strength

Technique comes first because everything starts with technique.

A perfectly timed feint can be more valuable than raw power.

A rapid return to guard can prevent dozens of unnecessary impacts over an entire career.

5. Distance is Life

Distance management is one of the foundations of KKB.

The fighter who controls distance usually controls the fight.

If your opponent cannot reach you, he cannot score.

If you can enter safely, score and leave safely, you increase your chances of victory while reducing risk.

Many KKB drills focus specifically on distance, entries, exits and angle creation.

6. Brain Protection and Career Longevity

KKB places enormous importance on long-term health.

Winning one fight is important.

Protecting your health for decades is even more important.

Every avoided punch helps preserve the body.

Every avoided head impact helps preserve the brain.

A successful career should not only be measured by titles and victories.

It should also be measured by health, quality of life and longevity.

7. How We Train at KKB

KKB training focuses on practical combat efficiency.

  • Distance control
  • Fast return to guard
  • Timing
  • Counter-attacking
  • Defensive responsibility
  • Ring positioning
  • Technical precision

One important KKB principle is simple:

You should be as fast returning to guard as you were launching the technique.

A low kick, body kick, teep or punch is not finished until the fighter has safely returned to a protected position.

8. KKB Summary

The KKB philosophy can be summarized in one sentence:

Score more points than your opponent. Do not get knocked out.

Everything taught at KKB serves this objective:

  • Technique
  • Feints
  • Distance
  • Timing
  • Footwork
  • Defense
  • Self-control

🥊 KKB Kun Khmer Boxing Battambang teaches that a smart fighter wins through technique, distance, timing and self-control. True victory is the one that protects the result, health and respect for the opponent.
