There is no single shortcut for all Lethwei
Descriptions of traditional contests and modern international promotions are often mixed together online. LFC’s published international rules, dated 14 June 2025, include decisions and remove the revival provision described in its traditional-format comparison. Why crossover records need care
A Kun Khmer competitor may accept a bout under another rule set. Do not turn that appearance into an ordinary Kun Khmer result or merge unlike title divisions. Store the event, opponent, rules and announced weight together. If the organiser provides no outcome, keep the bout as announced instead of inferring a victory from a photograph.
Read the official stoppage
A stoppage, a draw and a judges’ decision are different results. The database should preserve the official wording and source, including later corrections. This is especially important when two formats treat a completed distance differently. Readers can then understand what a career total includes.
Watching is not a training instruction
Use the comparison to understand a broadcast and its referee decisions. A technique permitted in a professional contest is not automatically appropriate for a club session. Agree the session rules with the coach; protective equipment does not make unrestricted contact risk-free.
