Pencak Silat: combat is one branch
The 2026 Southeast Asian championship handbook separates Tanding matches from artistic events such as single, double, team and creative solo. That difference matters on an athlete profile: an artistic medal and a combat victory are both achievements, but they are not entries in the same win–loss record.
Keep the rules edition attached
PERSILAT publishes a revision effective from 25 February 2026. An older manual or a short social-media clip cannot stand in for that document when reporting a sanctioned competition. Preserve the event category and rule reference so readers can understand what was contested.
Kun Lbokator and Kun Khmer are not interchangeable labels
UNESCO’s 2022 inscription concerns Kun Lbokator as Cambodian intangible cultural heritage. It is not a certification of every ring title, fighter record or commercial training programme. When a person practises both arts, describe that background without turning a demonstration or a grading into a professional bout.
