✅ Effective & Authorised Pressure Points in Kun Khmer and Muay Thai

While Muay Thai isn’t about “pressure point striking” in the traditional kung fu or Kyusho sense, certain areas of the body are naturally targeted because they’re both vulnerable and legally open in competition. These are “practical pressure points” — not mystical, but anatomical and combat-tested.

👤 1. Temple (Side of Head)

  • Why it’s effective: Thin skull and proximity to the brain; common KO spot.
  • Common strikes: Roundhouse kick, hook, spinning elbow.
  • Legal and extremely common in high-level Muay Thai

🦴 2. Jaw / Chin

  • Why it’s effective: Shocks the brain via whiplash — classic knockout.
  • Common strikes: Cross, uppercut, overhand, elbow.
  • Fully legal; cornerstone of striking in Muay Thai

🫁 3. Solar Plexus (Center Chest, below sternum)

  • Why it’s effective: Can wind or drop opponent; disrupts breathing.
  • Common strikes: Teep (push kick), knees in clinch.
  • Legal and sneaky — not always easy to target but very useful

🦵 4. Outer Thigh (Common Peroneal Nerve Area)

  • Why it’s effective: Disrupts mobility, deadens leg.
  • Common strikes: Low kick (roundhouse).
  • A primary Muay Thai weapon — even used strategically over time

🦵 5. Inside of Leg (Above knee/groin edge)

  • Why it’s effective: Muscle destabilizer; can unbalance stance.
  • Common strikes: Inside low kick.
  • Legal, but precision needed to avoid groin shot (which is illegal)

🦴 6. Liver (Right side body, under ribs)

  • Why it’s effective: Causes delayed pain, sometimes instant collapse.
  • Common strikes: Left body hook, left roundhouse.
  • Legal and devastating when timed correctly

💥 7. Side of Neck (Carotid zone)

  • Why it’s effective: Blood flow interruption, dizziness, blackout.
  • Common strikes: Slashing elbow, clinch knee, high kick.
  • Legal — used in advanced clinch and elbow tactics

What’s NOT Allowed in Muay Thai:

  • Hitting the back of the head or spine
  • Attacking the groin
  • Direct eye or throat pokes
  • Small joint manipulation (like fingers)
